- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Eric Madeen -- Solid Storytelling All the Way Through ... : This book lived up to its beginning which was needless to say quite compelling. It was great to see that the author kept up that energy all the way through to the cliff hanger of an ending. Even though this falls into the YA fantasy/thriller genre the writer's imagination and plotting and tight dialogue with plenty of bloodshed pulled me through. She's got talent!!! Awaiting her encore. It was engrossing, and the writing style was captivating. In addition, I found the plot was well-developed, and the characters were well-suited for a murder mystery thriller of this type. This book mixes the fantasy and murder mystery genres in an imaginative way. The world-building and character development have both been excellent. Despite the novel’s length, I have to remark that the author has a lot of experience keeping her readers interested. This is the book for you if you enjoy murder mysteries. It was hard to find good stopping points as the pacing was quick and constant. The characters were entertaining and still believable. Nice job with world-building. Just a strong, well-written book.
