:- 3.0 out of 5 stars from Iread -- Not as good as the 1st two… : Let me start by saying I own all of Trisha Yearwood’s cookbooks. Her show is the only Food Network show I record & watch. Her 1st two cookbooks are my GO TO forever!! I love that she uses REAL ingredients, and not too many of them! Her recipes are usually practical and affordable. I was excited to add another of her books to my collection. That said, I wish there were more photos of her recipes. (In my opinion every recipe should have a photo…especially in this day & age!) AND, I was disheartened to see some unhealthy ingredients like “crisco” still being promoted and used. Haven’t we moved past hydrogenated fats? Also, there were lots of recipes that I would never make or serve… brownies with potato chips? Rice corn fritters? And “galaxy” donuts, which are just regular donuts with weird frosting and took up 4 pages of the book. Other recipes were uber simplistic for a 4th cookbook-meatballs in marinara… just an odd jumble of recipes. I will keep the book, and probably make some of the dishes, but I could’ve just watched her show & printed out the recipes I liked from Food Networks site. I don’t think I’ll preorder the next one. The Foreward by her husband Garth Brooks is a treasure, and the recipes are an amazing collection that include just everything under the sun.
